Posted July 11, 2019 06:59:51A man has been arrested over the murder of his wife and the alleged kidnapping of her daughter.

Police said the 23-years-old woman had been living in a two-bedroom motel room with her partner, who she said had been violent with her.

“The victim was found in a room with two other women who were allegedly assaulted by the accused,” Detective Inspector Shane McBride said.

“A third victim had been taken into custody and police are now seeking the help of the community to assist in the investigation.”

He said the woman’s husband was a police officer and was a regular visitor to the motel.

“At this stage the woman has not been located, so the investigation is ongoing,” Detective Superintendent Mike Edwards said.

The woman had allegedly been missing for a number of weeks.

Police said she had been a student at the Queensland University of Technology.

“She was last seen by a male who arrived at the motel and he was not able to locate her,” Detective Sergeant Steve Chisholm said.

“The man who arrived was arrested shortly after arriving at the hotel.”

Police are appealing for the public’s help in locating the woman, who has a black plaid plaid top, maroon ploughshirted shirt and red shoes.
